Parents are putting aside more money for their sons’ college education than their daughters’

A recent study reported in the Wall Street Journal compared the college savings rates of parents of only sons to parents who had only daughters. The study showed that families invested in boys’ college more frequently and at higher rates.

Girls to had less access to college savings, which impacted their ability to get an education. These findings were consistent with a similar study performed a few years earlier.  The fact that this trend has continued creates a bleak outlook for girls’ college savings funds in the future.
