Gender Gaps Impact Economic Development

Educating and empowering women is good policy. International organizations advocate for closing gender gaps because it’s good for economic development.

Closing gender gaps in education and the economy helps everyone, not just women. This is especially true nations affected by poverty and violence.

Increasing opportunities for women and girls helps emerging nations grow. However, many girls face overwhelming social and economic barriers.  Some policy makers are working to change this.
