Social Institutions Must Evolve

Society recognizes the danger to women in public in all sorts of ways. For example, India, the U.K., and Japan all offer women-only compartments in public trains to keep women safe from attacks. Restrooms are gender segregated in most places for the same reason. But why is there no similar social recognition for sexual violence that occurs behind closed doors?

حکایتی شیرین در کتاب منطق الطیر عطار به چشم می خورد که درمیان تمام حکایت طولانی تر است و شاید شیرین ترین آنها باشد. داستان شیخ صنعان و عاشق شدن او بر دختر ترسا که مضمون آن پیرمردی سالک راه طریقت که همه عمر را در سلوک و زهد و تقوی به سر برده بود عاشق دختر مسیحی زیباروئی میشود و براین عشق چنان شوریدگی به او دست میدهد که از همه مسیرهایی که رفته بود به یکباره تغییر جهت میدهد و راه جدیدی در پیش می گیرد

Parents are putting aside more money for their sons’ college education than their daughters’. The Wall Street Journal recently reported the findings of two independent studies on the college savings gender gap. However, experts are not sure why savings for higher education is higher for boys than for girls.
